Imerovigli Santorini: Immerovigli is a picturesque village situated at the center west part of Santorini, only 3.5 km away from the center of Fira, the island’s capital town.
Geographically, it is a continuation of Fira and it is considered one of the most beautiful balconies of the Aegean, due to its location above a cliff that offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea, as well as the caldera and the volcano.
n fact, the name Imerovigli comes from the word vigla which means “viewpoint”, since during the old times, this location allowed villagers to see the pirate ships approaching.
These days, Imerovigli is one of the top locations to visit in Santorini and the village is an authentic example of Cycladic architecture, with narrow alleys, whitewashed houses built on the edge of the cliff, romantic sunsets and amazing hidden spots to discover.
